Thanks to all about new to planner boards replies

I just wanted to say thanks for all lthe help with my new planner boards.. They worked great .. never had a tangle , croossed line of any type of issues.. I did go and buy scotty clips and caribiners which worked out fantastic. we only got to fish Sat and wednesday. the Big blow killed us.. We did manage a 39inch , a 37, 36 and a few 34's .. all in all the planners worked for us.. Half the fish had sea lice .. Wished I had this week to fish.. The weather looks a hell of a lot better...

That sounds like some great trips. I have a quick question, I'm thinking about putting together a planer board for my trip out in two weeks. I'm confused how the lines don't slide when you clip them to the planer line. It seems like with a carabiner it would start sliding when you make a turn. This should be fun to experiment with :/

I'm no pro for sure.. This was my first time using them. I just let them out on the planner line the distance I wanted .. the rod line keeps the caribiner in place, it can't slip out any furter give or take a few inches along with the lure weight keeping a constant tug from the otherside of the caribiner.. It was pretty cool using them

planer boards usually produce more fish than boat rods. definitely get a pair remobeater

I sure hope to. Might start with just 2 lines off one set of boards since there isn't a whole lot of room on our 19' sport boat.
