Over the years I have replaced two of those sensors. They are not too hard to replace.

Looking for some advice on my 200 Yamaha T&T guage problem. I think I have narrowed it down to the lever on the motor that moves when the motor is lowered or raised and shows correspondendly on the gauge. My guage is stuck but I can make it move by physically moving the lever. The lever seems tight so I sprayed some PB Blaster on it but still wont free up.
Anybody got any ideas?

Got it working again. Cleaned the sending unit free from grease from a nearby fitting that was all over it and shot it with PB Blaster again (I must have used half a can and shot a hole in the ozone). After some serious wiggling on the lever the spring freed up and started working. Napa know how, napa know how!
Did that too but it failed about two weeks later.
So after that I used the California Turn Signal method and just eyeballed it.
Replaced it at the end of the season.

Obviously he's mentally challenged, yet beat your guy!!
Both my Yammies have the same problem. I just have to keep lever free with a spray of PB every 2-3 mths.
