Great report! I am heading there next week hopefully.
Wife and I fished Sat., started on slack high and fished about 4 hours. I thought we were going to smoke them, turned out to be a little slow. It took a while for the water to start out, it was clear, everything looked great to catch a quick limit. We ended up with 4 keepers in the boat and a total of about 14 fish. We trolled bucktails and gulp for the first hour around an old oyster bar in about 4' of water, no boats around us. We caught an 18" and 21" with several throw backs, I got a flounder to the boat 3 times that was as big as I have ever seen and it finally pulled off, got a very good look at him. A little later fishing along the edge of the flat in 7' of water my wife caught a 26.5" fish that weighed 7 lb. 2 oz at Don's, her first citation. Well it was a little slow but the quiality was great. We pulled about 1, heard a little thunder and I think my wife wanted to get her fish weighed and suggested we might want to go ahead and pull.
Great report! I am heading there next week hopefully.
Red, Thanks for the report. Other reports have also said it'd been slow, but at least you had some nice action on big fish. Headed down this Sat so hope it improves.
SO MANY FISH, SO LITTLE TIME
Won't get back down until June, heading to the Key's fishing next week for 9 days, then out to the Mid West for work for a week.
I'd rather be in the Keys than Wachapregue any day.The mid-west, not so much.
SO MANY FISH, SO LITTLE TIME
Thanks for the report Reds. We had a similar experience last week, minus the big fish! Good job on the big ones!
