Yeah Kev but them things are barely 12" long :).
Still real slow. HEAVY winds, the water was stained, we only caught one keeper. We fished morning til 1:00. Winds hit 25kts and kept getting worse. I would say give it a week of no wind before you try again.
heading up today to spend 5 days fishing Folly Creek/Metomkin area--I'll let you know what's left!
Good deal. Headed down next weekend. Some fresh intel would be good.
SO MANY FISH, SO LITTLE TIME
Just got back an hour ago...fishing was SLOOOOWWW....we started out late (had my 5 year old with me) and had a flurry for an hour before the high tide with a few fish and a large number lost due to 2 newbies on the boat. Then it dies. We caught them right out front of creek headed into the flats. Had a real nice fish come off right at the drain and a few shorts on the flats. Caught one nice fish right as we were headed out of bradford bay to head up to the flats. Heard a good bite at hummocks from a reliable buddy down there but it was too late and we had to get in. Someone said they caught fish in front of the coast guard station but it seemed too early to catch them there so we didn't waste our time for an unconfirmed report. Worst day I've had down there all year, but still managed some pullage. Good luck, let's keep the thread going with fresh intel. If anyone wants more detail PM me and I'll let you know. Would be nice to have a group of guys to share info with down there. I go about twice a month so my intel isnt always as fresh as others...good luck if you go!
Thanks for the report. As soon as fishing becomes a bit more consistent I will head down again.
I fished Folly Creek area Friday-Sunday, around high tide, got acouple of keeper seach day and not much else. Seems to be the norm. USCG was doing safety checks.
Quick report......Put 10 keepers in the Box ,lost 1 keeper at the Boat and had 1 short.....Wachapreague.....Friday,Saturday....1/2 a day Sunday....Skunk...
