    Default York River Croaker Yesterday

Left out of West Point at 6am and ran to the coleman brige in yorktown. Fished around the bridge and shore on the Yorktown side. The croakers were eating the hook before it got to the bottom. Bad news is they were all small. Between 7-3pm we fished from there and then at croaker landing on the way back. Put over 100 fish in the boat, took 5 home. All the rest were super small. Excellent morning, rough afternoon when the front came through.

Croaker are funny fish. They get smaller and smaller as spring fades and the summer takes over. Some catch bigger ones at night.

Went out of Croaker Point went to Channel Marker 22. Hung around there depths from 18-25 ft. Fishing picked up on the outgoing tide caught about 30 fish. Mostly small ones - kept about 9 bigger ones.

QUESTION - What better places are there to fish when putting in at Croaker Landing - should I head up river towards West Point?

    Thanks

Try the area of the light station about 3-4 miles up river.
