Good question. We have running this tournament the same weekend in June for 16 years.

Isn't the Hampton Creek Tournament the same day?
At least one is in VB and the other in Hampton ...... But that will put a lot of boats on the water.

Why would they cancel a cobia tournament days before the tourney? The weather and wind is definitely doable for tomorrow. Are they canceling it because the sightcasters probably won't have a chance with the wind? You can still switch over and chum which is just as good.

They shouldnt cancel it just because the wind is blowing a little bit. It is stated in the rules that wind is soley on the captains discretion.

I'm looking out on the bay now and there are no whitecaps even though the weatherman says its sposed to be blowing 15-20 with 4 to 5 ft seas. The seas are only 2 ft max at the moment. It seems silly to cancel it at the moment.
