Spent some time on the water today with my son, I know you guys like to debate the fishing allocations, How about all the rec crabbers who are who are bucking the system ? Saw one john boat running multiple 1500' lines and it was clear that they had no commercial license , no markings on the boat or the floats . How many rec crabbers do you feel are violating the system ?

What was your method of measuring the length of the line ? Please let me know so I can catch illegal recs. Agree with RJ, call the NRP if you can.
I know my sons lines are 1200' baited plus 100' on each end as tag line and 50' anchor lines and thier line was easily 300' past our floats from the same starting points. Could have easily checked with the GPS . When we pulled up they were running another line in a seperate location, and I do believe this was the second of three.

im with this guy ive seen it a thousand times take these females, sell thse for me,hold this bushel til im done and dnr takes hours to show up and they are gone by then waste of time
Want to see illega recs. Go to the Wye River during the summer. They crab before sun up, catch a bushel take it the truck and then go back out and catch another bushel. And to really frost your balls most of them are from Pa. and Delaware. Go figure. I don't carry a cell phone and the boat does not have a vhf. That will change this year.
In fact, my nephew has a commercial license and had to threaten to call the police to get a guy to move his line the required distance from his. My nephew was there and the guy came and layed his line right next to him. He politely told the guy that his line had to be so many yds away and the guy said prove it. So Gale just said let me get a DNR guy over here and then the guy relented.
I kinda think when it comes to crab poaching recs may have the lead there. Just my opinion on that.
