Thanks for your comments and all that have served and are serving. I know my dad put 33 years in the Navy. They pulled out days before Pearl Harbor happened. It still gives me chills.

If you have a few bucks that you can part with; there are some organizations that really make a difference... Wounded Warrior Project and the USO are a couple that actually make aa impact with your donation.

I would like simply and humbly ask, that in what ever way you can, find a way to reach out and help our service members and make a difference in their life. They are truely gratefull when know their not forgotten.

I would like to encourage all of you to go to this web site (www.wecare marines.com) this was started by a local mother and father from the Great Bridge area of Chesapeake Va in honor of their son LCPL Cody S. Childers (19 years old) that gave all for his country in Afghanistan. She takes donations of supplies and money so she can send care packages to our troops in harms way. Very good cause. Go to the web site or google his name and Check it out for yourself and I believe you will agree. God Bless our Troops and thanks to you all past and present.

My only hope is that I do justice In my coming years in the Navy to those who have come before me, and that I learn to set the standard for those to follow. As the creed says in one line...

I represent the fighting spirit of the Navy and those who have gone before me to defend freedom and democracy around the world.

Can't wait to be haze gray and underway
