Eminent Brothers.
Today (Friday) is a manditory furlough day at worm so I fent fishing. It was a strange high tide at the SPSP ramp and there was an ominous odor of dead fish in the air. Out at the Bay Bridge pilings I just couldn't figure out the tide and current. No matter where or how I positioned the boat, it just wasn't right. I worked my way east and a strange thing happened at piling 61. My first cast resulted in a snag of green mono with a swivel and big trolling style bucktail. Funny......but my next cast was even stranger. This time I got snagged on an LTJ rig with a BKD, mono leader and braided main line. But.....it was a pink diamond BKD and the jig head was painted floursent red with a chartruse nose and two big google eyes. Looked a lot like one of those Hot Rodded rigs I read about in Shawn Kimbro's book........I wonder????? Anyway I knew the BB bite was over when I drifted into a bunch of dead manhadden, so I guess I know where that smell was coming from. Nothing doing at Love Point and a bunch of chummers at Hacketts......but the old bent rod sonar was showing nothing going on. At least the water at Hacketts was pretty clear. Now you're not going to believe this, but I rigged up the Hot Rodded jig head with a diamond pink BKD and managed to catch a croaker at the end of Tolly Point bar. As it turned out that was about it for me. Close to a SKUNK'ing but by the skin of my teeth I was saved by a Hot Rodded Kimbro rig. Thanks brother Shawn...I oue you one

Eminent Brothers,
There were about 5-6 chummers out there in about 25' of water. Nobody was drifting the point itself. At least one charter boat anchored in chum fleet with another one looking around. The water above the BB was orange-brown and left a stain on my hull. More action at Hackets where there were 15 or so boats chumming including the Becky D. The water at Hacketts was pretty clear.
the Becky D is the best clue.......
I caught almost the exact same thing last weekend. It was a 10 inch white bkd hot rodded with orange and chartreuse, goggle eyes, kandy corn and all. I tokk a picture of it and sent it to Shawn.
Getting to be a popular lure. I haven't lost one at the Bay Bridge in, like, hours....
