Good job bro! Sounds like you had a great day out there..... Hopefully this year turns out to be a great year for all of us.
Started today around 5:45 Used 30 Collapsible traps trimmed with Chicken.
Caught the out going tide, Water temps 78degress.
Picked up seven on the first run & seven on the sceond and eight on the third and so on & so on..... Averaged about 7 per pull.
Water depth was 4-6ft. Water quality was very clean and clear.
Most crabs caught and kept were in the 6-1/2" to 7" and scrappy, Threw a lot of white bellies back.
Crabbed til about 10:45 the wind starting blowing up the creek. Caught almost a bushel, Not bad for the first time out.

"The Chesapeake does not impress those who know it best as the grandest or most of anything. For all its size and gross statistics, it is an intimate place where land and water intertwine in infinite varities of mood and pattern."

We were in Ebay on Fri (5/25) taking sloppy seconds in the PM and did okay....we prefer to drink, crab and sun while on the water, so we go in the PM and take our chances on the crabs. Crabbed 5 hrs thru a tide change and managed 28 crabs, mixed. water temps were 80*. Our best depth was 9'. We talked to an AM crabber that said their best depth was 7-8' on their 3/4 bushel. Most of our crabs were paper shells, at best, but very full!? Got most off the traps as they dropped off quick off the line. Water clarity was very good and lots of floating grass. Are you on the western shore or eastern shore?
Joe B.
Western, And Yes a lot of grass which is a good sign. And the water was super clear.....
