    hummm sure does look like it ,,,,, has anyone everyone caught one in the bay before ? we caught two in about 80'

    Looks like a cross between a snakehead and a sea trout. Hake or eastern banded rudder.

    Spotted hake. We fish intentionally for red hake (ling) in the winter in NJ (was a great year). Some people call the spotted ones squirrel hake.

    definitely a hake. where were you??? usually not found in the bay this far south
