12 Specks is very good any day. If Sunman has been skunked the past 2 trips consider yourself blessed. Sunman and Deeka are my former fishing partners if these guys are having some trouble finding those rascals it means the damm cownose rays have the shallows muddied up.
Retired to Palm Beach Florida fishing offshore out of a 27 ft. custom Blackhawk CC twin 200 etecs. My heart is still in lower Dorchester county, miss my ersters and crabs, don't miss the skeeters.

Way to go Jack. They sure are pretty fish and they make a good meal when fresh.

I enjoyed last fall's run of specs into the Choptank River and above. I made two trips in my kayak and caught a bunch of small, but fine looking specs from a Choptank tributary for my first ever Maryland specs.

I sympathize with your attempts to catch a fish species time after time without success. I have had two such quests in the past 15 years. The first was tarpon. It took three years of multiple charter trips in FL before my first tarpon came to boat side in 2003. Even stranger was a four-year quest to catch my first redfish. I booked multiple charters in redfish havens like LA, TX, and FL but always came back unfulfilled. Finally a few years ago, Brandon posted a mid-summer report about fishing for redfish in Lynhaven Inlet with a kayak fishing guide. I booked a 4-hour trip for the following Sat. I caught 7 redfish in 4 hours.

It sure feels good to achieve a species goal after a long, frustrating odyssey.

Good seeing you guys over their yesterday.
We didn't do as well as you but we did catch a few and a few rock as well.
We lost one that was at least 24 inches if not larger but it came unhooked right at the boat.
The water was getting muddy after the wind picked up and we kept running into the skates so we headed back and had lunch back at Buzz's.
May catch you next time and go over to Smith IS. for lunch with you.

Andy, Do you believe this, I turned down two tuna invites to go for specks?

Sunman, Thanks I too hope my luck holds.

Timmy, Thanks, calll if you need info. Now I'm an expert.

    Nick, You got that right.

    BW, You're right.

Jamie, You know fishing, one day the fish jump on the line and next you pray for a bite. BTW the softshells are awesome at Rukes on Smith Island. The shedder house is next to the store.

    CA, Thanks

    Steve, Thanks

John, I remember your redfish tale, well that my speck story. Ain't great when you finally get it?

Steve, Good to see you and Sandy. Figured you guys were there when we saw the Mrs. Bass Kandy at the dock.
