Default Cancelling Buoyweather - Sticking with Windguru Pro

I've had buoyweather for a couple of years now and started using using windguru pro a year ago. Buoyweather is about $95 per year and windguru pro is about $28 per year. Windguru gives all the same information as buoyweather execept buoyweather puts in the information in narrative format. Buoyweather only presents you with one model...I think the GFS mode. Windguru gives 3 different models. Windguru updates the models faster than buoyweather. Buoyweather is for offshore only and does not let you pick spots too close to land. Windguru does not matter, inshore or offshore. I know windguru was created for surfers looking for big waves but it also works in reverse too looking for little waves. Windguru pro let's you pick any spot on google maps to create custom waypoints and also has smartphone apps for access on the go.

Just thought I'd pass along my observations. I have no business affliations with either. Just looking to spend my fishing money more wisely.

Not familiar with windguru pro, But Bouy Weather has been most accurate in my observations. Cant count how many times I stayed on dock and got ridiculed by others using wind guru and noaa, only to rejoice when they came back and stated "they should have listened to me".
As for selecting loactions / cordinates, that is exactly what bouy weather allows. They do not provide service for the inland waters.

BW provides all weather, info etc for the mid atlantic (+) region, as well as other areas. Once you save a specific area, you can click on ocean data and see seas, temps, currents, chloro, elvations, lifted index and countless other info to complicated for me.

I must be getting a heck of a discount, as I have been using it for more than 5 yrs??????????

With BW, you also get Fish Traks.

I will gladly pay for Bouy Weather and Hiltons Real Time Navigator, as long as I can fish offshore and We get a new president before next season.

BW provides the exact same info as windguru pro except BW updates slower and only provides a single wind model. My point being it would be impossible for BW to be right and windguru be wrong.

Mike, are you saying that they use the same models and data? I have both and had been using them for confirmation of info, but if you are saying it is the same info I would guess they would both either be right, or wrong.

Yes exactly the same for the windguru pro GFS model. Exact same wind speed, gust, wave height, wave period, wave direction for the same 7 day period. But just like all wind models, the farther out they are the less accurate they are. But BW updates about an hour slower than windguru pro.

Does the wind guru also provide:
    sea surface charts
mixed layer of water bodies / depth of thermocline
current flow / speed / direction
lifted index ( probability of storms)
    chloro
    actual satelite views
If so, why should anyone pay $78 when $28 would suffice?
Do they offer a trial period?

No but BW services for SST are inadaquate compared to pay SST services so still need an SST service. I've tried those features with BW and they are not very good.

Hey Mike, can you tell me what is the best offshore day this weekend out of VB for free lol? NOAA is driving me nuts with the constant changing forecast!
