Default 1995 225 evinrude spark only on 2 cylinders

I checked several times and only have spark on the left bank top two coils. I recently bought this boat and am unfamiliar with the engine, though I am pretty sure the cdi is new as he told me he replaced it. I do not know if it has ran since. I switched coils around and the same two cylinders fired so the coils should be good. Someone please help/! I have heard that the kill switch causes similar problems though I would expect it would kill spark on all cylinders. I'd imagine whatever is wrong with one is wrong with them all. Thanks in advance for any help you can offer

Check the shift kill swith at bottom of engine. It kills the right bank between forward/reverse shift to limit shock to lower unit.

Thanks for your replies, the only reason I am doubting it s the power pack is bc the guys I bought the boat from replaced it last year. I have found troubleshooting steps for it but you need a "dva" to attach to your fluke meter I am trying to eliminate other possibilities before I buy the meter. I'll post back what I come up.with as I go just haven't had a chance to look at it this week

Strange symptoms. The ignition system is divided in two “systems”. Cylinders 1, 3, and 5 and 2, 4 and 6.
Missing one cylinder out of a bank would lead me to a problem with an individual component. Bad coil, bad wire, bad spark plug connection. Run motor in the dark to see if you see any arcing.

Check to make sure the magnets on the flywheel are still intact. We chased a similar problem on my 200HP for a week before we changed flywheel and the problem went away. Never did figure out exactly what was wrong

As noted above, shift switch kills cylinders 1,3 and 5. Run Shift switch test in manual. Run charge coil test. You don’t need a DVA for most of the test. Ignition coils, charge coil, etc. can be eliminated via ohm testing.

BTW: if you don't have a factory shop manual get one. The third party manuals are junk in comparison

Get a manual and follow the steps. I had a similar problem two seasons ago on the 1,3,5 cylinder and in fact it was a misaligned rocker that drops those cylinders when going into gear. I saw another poster who said the same. Get a repair manual, and be ready to do some continuity tests.
