I was wondering where there are good areas with public access to wade fish around the OI, Manteo and Nags Head areas. I will be down that way in a few weeks with family and would like to try some new areas.

All of those areas are holding trout and flounder right now

A good spot is right at the Oregon Inlet Marina there is a hole called the Prop Slough... Drive all the way down on the left of the boats and you will probably see a few guys out there. Its about a 75yd walk to the drop where it goes form about 3 to 5ft. Bring a popping cork and about a 3.5ft liter and enjoy! Gulp jerk shads will do the trick

We caught specs every third cast or so right outside of Colington Harbour on Sat. Fun fishing.
