    Default Installing trim cylinders...

    I just purchased a pair of trim cylinders for a Mercruiser Alpha-1, Gen-1. The question is; how do I get them to retract inward? They are not installed yet and I put all 315 lbs on them but they will not go inward (shorten themselves). Is there a bolt I must loosen to relieve the pressure? Thank you, Bob
