    Default Rocky Gorge

I managed a few hours on Rocky Gorge out of the Supplee ramp before the big storms Friday, forgot how pretty that lake is. My brother from Washington state was with me, he's a salmon fisherman out there but not much experience with warmwater fish. We tried a few different things, spinner baits, grubs and I finally started getting some lookers on small floating Rapalas, so I rigged him up with one and pointed out a few likely looking spots to cast to. Luckily for me the bass were cooperating and we left with him thinking I actually knew what I was doing. Nothing huge but nice clean fish that jumped like crazy when hooked. I wish I had thought to try crawling some plastic worms across the surface, I've got a feeling they would have worked as well and really would have been fun.

Thanks for this report. Since you mentioned it was just before the storms, it must have been early afternoon? I bet they were really on with the falling air pressure before the storm. They have been really picky there lately and I have only caught 2 in my last 4 trips. Sounds like you had em dialed in though!

Yeah, from about 11am to 2pm. Fished a long shoreline with nothing happening and then pulled three from a tiny section of shallow rocky flat maybe 20' long. Went across the lake into a couple of coves and banged them deep in the shadows, several nice bluegill as well.
