Is there a way to donate through the link specifically to the Chesapeake WAF or only to the natl WAF- I couldn't tell? Andy
Hi All -
Our 2012 Wish-A-Fish event at Sandy Point State Park in Annapolis is scheduled for Saturday, July 21st. We have a great time every year taking the special needs kids and their families fishing. You can get full information about it and see pictures of prior years event on the WAF web site - Wish-A-Fish Foundation
We usually host about 30 families each year which means we need between 30 and 35 boats. We always like to have a couple of extra boats on hand in case someone has a breakdown. We also need a couple of boats to act as "Press" boats for the photographers and/or any reporters that attend. Between parents, kids, and all the volunteers we usually have well over 200 people at the event - so we're also looking for some volunteers to help out on shore to make the event a success. We're looking for:
Captains and their boats (at least 22 ft in length)
A few Mates to help any Captains running solo.
Shore Help
Transportation Help for supplies
If you would like to volunteer to help with this event, please sign up on the WAF Web Site - - Wish-A-Fish Foundation - Volunteers Signup Page
You won't regret it - July 21st will be one of the best days you will have all yearSeeing these kids having fun ... priceless!
Here's a few pictures from last year's event to get everyone in the spirit of the day!

This is a great event. If you get a chance to participate, you should do it. I just signed up for our fifth year and look forward to seeing all the great people who make this such a special event for alot of families who need a day when they can just relax and let people spoil them for a day.
I don't have a boat large enough (18') to take a family, but I would love to get involved with this event. I would be willing to do whatever to help on shore, take pictures, mate, etc. I am a high school teacher and an avid angler, so this event is right on my path!
Andy - - if you donate through the paypal link, just send me a PM or email to let me know. Our group processes all the online donations, so we can direct the funds where the donor wants them to go. Or you can send a check to Skip at the address on the contact page of the web site if that's easier.
Thanks!!

ste6168 - - love to get you involved - we've got plenty of work to do the day of the event and even before the event. Go to the web site and use the Captain's signup page to fill in all your contact information - select "Shore Help" as the volunteer position. PM me if you have anything in particular you'd like to help with. Appreciate all the help we can get!

This event is a fantastic event. It is a great way to serve others along with sharing the sport and recreation we all love. My son always serves as one of my mates and it is wonderful to see him wanting to do for others. If you havent been part of this event and are a fisherman, you are missing out!
We cant wait!

This is something I've been wanting to do, and this year I'm about 95% sure I can pull it off...
Anyone know if theres a cut-off date for signing up a boat, or can they always use more?
