    Default flounder reel?

Hey guys and gals, whats your flounder reels look like. I mostlly inlet fish and have a CABELAS reel and a OKUMA SALINA(plus some wallyword backup cheapos I wont mention). Must admit the SALINA has had poor performance with the paint peeling and the bail sticking but the cheap CABELAS has been great. Use braid and I always spray off with fresh water after every trip. The bail also lets The braid slip in between the roller on the SALINA. Lookin to pick up another reel or two for fathers day but not going to spend a fortune either. By the way the SALINA cost me over twice as much as the CABELAS AND BOTH WERE "MADE" for saltwater. JUST WANTED SOME OF YOUR EXPERIENCES.

For an all around reel that you can use to catch anything in the bay checkout Shimano's Charter Special TR-2000LD Reel.
    Don't catch em all!

ShimanoTekota 600 is an all-around reel. Not a casting reel, but smooth as silk on the retrieve. Good for small to medium-large strippers as well.

I have recently switched to Shimano Charter Specials and the Shimano TR 200s and they are great!

I like good old Penn level winds with egg handles, or some without level winds. You can buy them at yard sales. But my flounder fishing is drifting, not casting.

Shimano Calcutta 400, they're built like a tank. I bought them used on ebay and got a great deal, they have gone up in price since.

Charter specials are great reels, but have never used them to flounder fish. They don't make lefties otherwise I would. I favor Shimano Calcuttas, 251's and Ambassedeur Record Reels, RCN 51's a close second.
