    Default Baltimore 10 June

Left our OC marina at 0515 hrs and headed to the Baltimore with David and Chip. I hate it when the fish are so far out becquse my Carolina Classic only runs about 21 knots so its nearly 3 hours each direction leaving only a few hours to fish. We got to the tip to find only 66.8 degrees, expecting 68-69. No action at all until nearly noon when a half mile long pod of two-tones were noted and we followed them for 15-20 minutes when two lines finally went down. Dave and Chip nailed them both. Another boat saw them and ran through them causing them to sound and we didn't see them again. We circled the area of about 60 fathoms and got another hit on the long rigger While Chip was fighting that fish, the wwb bird/green machine went down and we had another double Got them both in the boat and were 4/4 on yft about 35 lb average. Not another bit of action anywhere and sounded like we were lucky to pick up the four. Very little wind or waves all day and we came back to the dock at 1645 hrs Great day out there. There is more warm water on the way - hope the wx holds for a couple more trips like this one.

Good job Van. We were with much of the OC fleet just a little south of you. Had a double header right off the bat and lost one at boatside. Went the rest of the day without a tug. Fish were being caught here and there and a few boats did well, but very slow overall compared to the previous two days. I'm just thinking the boat pressure caused a little lock jaw, as we marked plenty of bait and fish later in the day.

Nice work. We were south of you in the Poorman's. Three bites. One 35" in the box @ 730am. One short bite an hour later, & one 27" that we threw back in the afternoon. Sounded like a slow day.

Hey the turtle beat the hare remember
... if the forecasts were bettee we would have gone in the hare.4s not bad.screw the idiot that ran over the dolphins again and again.did you catch his name?cant wait for our next trip.ps my boat pissed on me out the front bilge when I checked her on my way home last night.btw you forgot to mention GM/BIRD IT DID ACCOUNT FOR 2..GO YANNY GO........
ALSO I need to mention that we kept our distance purposely about 75 yards from the porpoise(QUITE UNLIKE the boat in Baltimore Canyon that RAN right over TOP of them F'IN IDIOT) we were following to not hinder their movements in any way.Now and then a couple of pairs of ALL sizes would pair off to come over and check us out and ride the bows wake. I noticed and mention to Chip and Van" Hey look back by The GREEN MACHINE and BIRD"(sorry J.O.) there was a larger member of this enormous group that Breached again and again several times near that bait which shortly thereafter Had a Yellowfin on.I believe he intentionally made it appear as if they were feeding to bring the TUNA up to bite which gave the Porpoise time to leave us in their dust while we fought our double header.Just something to think about guys They are sooo smart I think he took a food adversary and our boat out of their way in a single well played move.......something to think about.
