Catfishing

Anyone do any catfishing on the Nottoway or Blackwater rivers around the NC line? Thinking about giving it a shot this coming Saturday night....any thoughts/ advice would be great. Not looking for a monster, just would like to wet a line and catch some fish.

I have only been to the nottoway once this year and caught a few but in the past I have always done well with cats upto 8 lbs or so with alot of small ones mixed in. Like you said wet a line and catch some fish , if it was me I would go. Good luck

Had to push back plans, going to shoot for this weekend. Will post a report with pics after I go.

use 2-3 oz bank sinkers on a fish finder rig, barrel swivel, 1 foot of 30lb test leader with a 5/0 circle hook. use fresh cut bluegill or whatever you can get your hands on. i tend to catch most of my cats on that rig
