Default Great mix of bites for first offshore run

All the reports last few weeks had me itching but with work jammin haven't had weather and work line up till Sunday. Jumped on board with Neal from Seaduction Charters his wife Janet and my buddy Mike. We took the Cape Horn 31 and left the dock at 3:00 to get on em early. Ran down to the 230 and started on the break half the spread out and a blue one pops up and grabs the spreader bar reel it away and try to feed em something didn't have a pitch bait ready and the rest of the spread is meat fishing stuff, get him to bite an islander but drops it and fades off. Finally get the spread out and get hit going 1 for two on nice YFT lost one boatside along with a gaff, get hit again and this time 2 of 4 come tight and box two more YFT, little later whitey comes up behind the spreader bar then peels off and piles on the long rigger, he starts jumping, greyhounding and we are all looking around to figure out what rod he is on the realize he broke the main line and is back there doing his thing with just an islander in him, oh well another one broke off, continue to pick at the YFT getting singles doubles etc broke a few off due to tackle failure but ended up boating 6 one 25lber the rest were nice class 40-50lbs also caught a gaffer. Finally had another white come up and play with us we had em back there lit up for quite awhile, I had us doing tight circles he must have come up and down 5 times we all were dropping stuff back realing stuff up he wouldn't touch the pitch bait but did pile on the pink and white islander and got stuck Janet fought him and we had the release in 20 minutes got lure back and sent him swimming, about and hour later on I see a fin behind the same lure he pops it out of the clip and makes a short run drops it and then hits the long rigger but misses and takes off. All in all a busy day plenty of bites very little down time and just like last year the marlin love to show up when your dragging tuna gear and I knew if I put out the dinks the tuna would get us. Also tough to get whitey when you can't see him till he is on the bait with no tower.

    Finally Tally

6 for who knows on YFT
    1 Gaffer
    1 for 3 on whites
0 for 1 on blue marlin
