Default " Loss of another Maryland Hero ”

    Kavanagh Eric M.
    .
Another man of Maryland is snuffed out. War is a magical magnet that draws some bulletproof men, to their duty, and sadly, to their demise.
    .
While Eric was here, he enjoyed a summer, in love with Juliet. They enjoyed a sweet june rainbow and that hot summer wind of youth.
    .
As Eric left, to Juliet, he gave flowers, from his last july.
    .
Eric went to a foreign land, under the red white and blue. He went for me, he went for you.
    .
No more does Eric see the rainbow or feel that hot wind.
    .
I remember him magically in my video mind, I mourn his loss, part of me is forever gone. Something deep, cold, yet empty, has replaced something vibrant and warm.
    .
A grateful nation “ respects” his sacrifice. I am impotently frustrated and angry!
    .
Eric [ and others ] paid too high a price, to protect our Nation.
    .
As the fourth of July approaches, with Vicksburg, Gettysburg, and inexorably Lincoln, I reflect on what so many have paid, and what a marvelous “ GIFT ” this Nation is.
    .
Dedicated to the life and sacrifice of Pvt Eric M Kavanagh USA, RIP 2006. I hope that his family reads this.
    .
Eric lived in Pasadena Md. He went to local schools. His family still lives here.
Eric is one of us, he is not a stranger from a far away state, he drove Ritchie Highway.

    Default truth not poetry

This story is mostly true, with a little poetry. Eric really died [ killed in Baghdad ] in the service of our nation. He really did live over by magothy river , near Magothy bridge road, off old man creek. He was too young to make that large sacrifice, [ my opinion ]. He went to Chesapeake High School, and he played guitar. Like your son, like my son.
    .
His Girlfriend's name was changed to Juliet, out of Shakespeare. Yes there is a little poetry here, there is a lot more reality and respect.
There is a somewhat sad intent to highlight the cost of freedom. Memorial day has passed, however this serves as a memorial to a good man, who served us bravely, and well. Let us not forget him and others, who are serving now.
