    Default Back River Reef

Where do you put your boat in if you want to fish The Back River Reef? I live in Chesapeake and fish the Hampton Bar most of the time.....I am looking for some nice croaker for a fish fry.

Only bout a 15 min boat ride from Hampton Bar. But closest ramp would be Messick point in Poq.

Put in over at Wallace's in Fox Hill. Plenty of Parking, nice ramps, Bait Fuel and Ice right there. The Reef area is straight out of the channel from there. Been a while since I fished it but probably 1 mile or so. Its marked with a yellow buoy and there are always a few boats on it

Wallace's marina. Mercury Blvd. east to left on Foxhill road, to left on Beach Road, to left on Dandy Point Road. The marina is at the end of this road. Careful to follow winding channel out to the mouth of the river. Take a heading of 65 to 70 degrees from the mouth of the river--approx. 3 miles, look for the yellow buoy and the other boats in the area.
