My "fish of the year" last year was a large red drum caught while jigging near Buoy 62 (released). My logs shows that I have caught 56 juvenile red drum this year in the creeks of the Great Wicomico while targeting other species. If the small ones grow up and stay in the area, the red drum fishing could be great in the future.

Yeocomico River - large river inside the Potomac on the Va side directly across from St Mary's River in MD - also, a very nice artificial reef is at the mouth of the Yeo called Hog Island Reef .... very good place to chum for blues and Rock (in season of course)

Nice Red Drums, that's a 6" bkd? How are you targeting puppy drum in the Great Wicomico BayViews? I've done a lot of jigging with gulp jerk shads and similar baits but need to get some bkd's. I've never caught anything on them before, only had a tail bitten off by a blue. All our catches in the Wicomico are squid or bloodwoorms. And we've caught a few small striper < 12".

I've tried chumming hog reef in June last year. It was completely dead on the fishfinder and no takers on menhaden. Didn't give it much of a chance though.
