"red tide"

I saw the algae bloom making up in my cove on the Lafayette, near the Hamton Blvd Bridge. I know it's not technically "red tide" but that's what people call it. Early for this year; has to be the heat. Don't see much changing this week.

Let's hope it doesn't get too widespread.

I can remember the first time Kevin and I saw that about 7 years ago when we first bought a boat, it was creepy to say the least but simply amazing at the same time..

happening on the west coast, down in flordia, in the gulf, australia, and i'am sure many other places that haven't cared to report or just ignore it. not suprising though, you can read all bout it in Revelation. Good Luck.

Nuthing new about it and its time for it to start up in the rivers, its not pretty. And i say nothing new about it because back in 1978 i remember surf fishing down in Sandbridge Beach and a Red Tide was so thick it actually clung to you like tomato juice and STANK. Fish were not present in the Red tide and it was all in the surf zone up and down the beach. Back then it seemed not a lot of people knew of it and it took some research by me to find out what it was and when i told people about it they were amazed or sometimes unbelieving about it. This was before the Internet age and there was no Google, imagine that.

With heavy downpours and runoff every week and rising water temps it will happen and become more widespread.Happens every year we get a lot of rain in the summer.Good luck!

well I'm also getting a lot of crabs dying in my pots but that could be heat, too.
