With my memory brain cells shot, I had to walk out to the shed to make sure & it is green. When my old black one went bad I even switched the black knob from my gas grill & still no success. I had been using that burner for prob. 10-15 years with the black. Some one told me (dont remember who) to get the green knob. I found one & put it on. Problem solved. I have since used it about 20 times w/ no prob.....George
