Default Honey Hole with no Honey!

Me and my dad first mate Jim Jones a.k.a Hacksaw set out this morning around 4:30. Got to my Honey hole up north in the Pax and set the line out. As you all know I went to the same place last friday and only got around a 1/2 bushel and posted on here what the heck was going on. So anyway I went down the line for the first run and only got one. So I gave it a few min and went down again and only one. So I had two keepers so I said screw this I'm out of here. Called my buddy who was down south near broomes island and he said he had 11 on the first run and 9 on the second. So I headed south! After getting there and getting my line untangled which I had to cut 150' off I set my line in the water and which it was 7:30 by this time and by 10 we had 3/4 of a bushel and the tide was slack so we decided to leave. I don't know what's going on up north in my Honey hole but the Honey is all gone. Good luck out there......

. Something that a lot of old crabbers will tell you is that just when you think you have the crabs figured out, they'll trip you up and do something that you never expected.
In Beautiful Swimmers, the old trotliner, Lester Lee, summed it up best. "Crabs is fonny"

Whenever I am uncertain as to where the crabs are on any given day I laways prospect with a 600' length of line from shallow to deep in order to locate them.

Doesn't take too much time and the effort is worthwhile.

    Why crab where they ain't?
