Ive seen a many of Bassers working that area, I always assumed it was a sandy point. Ive caught crappie on the 'east' side of it.. last summer.
Just so happens I hit the wrong button on my keyboard and up poped that other board.Saw the post by TapOut showing either a road or an old dam in Lake Burnt Mills here in Suffolk.
That which I had told Bennett about back in the early spring is leaving the larger of the two islands under the word Burnt on the map below and runs from the small point on the south/west part of the island moving westward towards the point of land where the creek enters into the lake area.
I'm calling westward and south as you look at the map not the actual west and south.

It was back in those days when I use to green carp fish when I fished this lake.TapOut the next time you are running towards the back of the lake here is another damn to check out.
If you look at the map I posted above, follow the run of the lake towards the back and where the lake makes a 90 degree turn to the right you will see the word LAKE.as in Lake Burnt Mills.
There is a short stright away above the word lake before the main run bears off to the left.
At this point there is a small cove stright ahead.
Enter that cove on your trolling motor and you should see a damn somewhere just inside the cove.
It's been almost 20 years since I've fished the lake so let me know what you find.
