    Default Motor Issues... Pissed!

Have a 1999 250 Merc Bluewater series and cranks up with no issues, idles fine, revs up fine when throttle disengaged, put it in gear and go full throttle and just bogs down. Fresh fuel w/seafoam, new in-line filter to the motor, and new fuel filter on the engine. Tried to pump ball while in full throttle and no change. Will idle around all day with no issues??? Any input would be greatly appreciated, wanna get out and fish! Mike W.

Will it run fine up to about 2500 rpms? If so, you've probably got a bad stator

My Yamaha 175 was pretty much the same way last summer. Got the carbs reworked/cleaned, ran great.

Was it running fine earlier this year? Had it been sitting long?

    Good luck,
    Tom

Is it fuel injected? My merc is and it does the same thing but i can get it to go to full throttle after messing with it for a while. My mechanic is going to remove the injectors and have them cleaned and ballanced hopefully next week. He told me that one F\I serves 2 pistons and that is why is has no pwr; also that pushing down on throttle trying to get it to GO for too long of a time can lean out one of those pistons and destroy your motor. So be careful if it is fuel injected. Something to think about, good luck Mike.

When you pump the ball is it hard or do you have to pump to fill it with fuel?
Check for Air in the lines--sucking air.
Older boat and motor--check your hoses and make sure they aren't sucking in under load.
No load and under load uses vastly different amounts of fuel- sounds like you have a fuel problem.
