Weakfish or sand perch?
To be uncharacteristically serious for a sec, two weekends ago while fishing with my kids in a Severn River cove, we saw a long, silver fish leap from the water while plowing into a school of peanut bunker. We've caught pickerel from that cove, including on that same day, but the fish looked really silver (rather than green) and quite a bit longer and thinner than the pickerel we had caught. My son insisted it was an eel, but I told him that I'd never seen or heard of an eel leaping like that (an a arched, porpoise leap).
I've been scratching my head over what it could have been, but your pic of the cutlass fish is, so far, the closest thing to what we saw that morning. Thanks for sharing.
