Default monday the 16th at the dog

picked up a white real early south of the dog trying to stay away from the small chunking fleet. Then picked up a yft on a wwb east of the dog. all the chunkers left by about 4 and as soon as we pulled in there we got a yft on a gm spreader bar, and then another on a wwb. Then we had about a 40# bull grab a flat line, jump once and spit the hook. A few seconds later the wwb on an 80 starts screaming and there he is way back there doing cartwheels. Never seen a mahi bend an 80 like that and puul drag off one. I leadered him, he went nuts, the boat was in neutral and he went straight for the running gear and gone. best part of the day was that sonny (my dog) finally got the courage up to pee on the boat! I was so happy, I hate that he holds it all day out there. btw, the chunkers were crushing em.

Should have gone to the Dog yesterday. Instead decided to try JackSpot and ended up with a cooler full of Mackerel and Bluefish. No tuna there.

Not kings, just basic atlantic mackerel. Small, maybe 12 to 14 inches, but a lot of them. We were anchored along the southeast edge in about 54 feet. Chunking and chumming. The chum did the trick. There were hundreds behind the boat and fun to catch with small hooks and a squid strips. No weight needed. The medium blues then showed up and the mackerel were gone. Blues were small to medium in size. Maybe 2 to 4 lbs.
