The "mermaid" show on Discovery Channel

so did anyone else see the tv "show" about the mermaids on discovery channel and i guess animal planet has been running it too? It was kind of interesting but what they tried to pull off as real was definatly BS. I thought the Discovery channel was a bit more serious in its programming than what it was. I know this is a fishing forum but i thought this might take everyone attention away from the othher 20 page thread!

I watched part of it with some girls who were convinced it was real - because it was on discovery. I understand where they are coming from - the network used to air only factual shows / documentaries.

Love deadliest catch though.. even though the made for TV drama trips the BS alarm sometimes, the great cinematography of the boats, sea and fishing keeps me watching.

Funny I think I read a story recently about how the higher-ups at discovery are big time global warming supporters - and so far on this season of Deadliest Catch all of them are saying how the winter is colder than ever and the ice was the worst they have seen in years and years...
