    baysavers,

i hope you are not taking these replies personal. we have stolen your thread, please , it is not directed at you. thx for the rpt. ps - with very little detective work (and it takes that and time to put the pieces together), almost anyone can figure where u all fished, when u mentioned 'kent isl' and charter boat.

Hacketts point, inside the green can
Bay Bridge..I like the eastern side piles more than western
Tollys, just off the point, on down side of current flow
Thomas Point Light...never caught anything there except dinks
Bloody Point Light, work the drop offs on both south and north sides...can easily see on a chart
Poplar Island, look for all the Charter Boats, that is where the fish are
Love Point, work the lumps and humps also try the rock pile
Mouth of South River...big hole...look on chart
Eastern Bay, any where on the chart you see lots of bottom depth changes both at mouth and inside
or just follow the charter boats out of Rod n Reel, don't over crowd them, but they go where fish are every day

Nothing personal here. Some of you guys crack me up. Life is too short to get worked up over poached fishing spots (now poachers, that is another issues - you can go to www.chesapeakebaysavers.org to see what some of us are trying to do about that - how's that for a shameless plug?). I understand the mentality but I'm happy to share any spot I find on my own. I've posted three reports and both where I was on my boat I gave time, location and rig. I don't get out as much as I'd like so I'm not worried about people stealing my spots. I'm happy to help someone else catch some fish.

The captain we were with is out everyday, twice a day. His boat goes 7 knots at best. He's not hard to find.

Flyguy is dead on, any of these locations hold fish. They are all good. I look at this board to get an idea on whether there is a good bite going in general and how they are being caught. Personally, I think giving a description of the setup you are using is more beneficial than location. I know some guys who never fish, have recently gone to Hacketts with no depth finder, drifted spot and caught a limit.

Hey one fish I agree with you 100% on both post you wrote . The bottom line is most people griping about spot burners are more than likely spot burning themselves.

Most professional captains don't worry about spot burning and would like to get their name out there ..
The forum should be here to help other fisherman .
Maybe we should have a new category.. bragging' report..
    Went fishing
    Caught big fish
Took picture (edited out the background)
    Came home
    Nice day

    Great report.
I agree with Capt. Tuma. I've wondered why some TFers post pics of the fish they caught--carefully taken so no one can tell where they are--and provide no other useful information. This board used to be a great source of information. Its practically useless now. Too bad. I For the guys that post actual info. on where they caught (or didn't catch), etc., thanks--that's what I thought this board was supposed to be about.

I agree with the original poster. I wouldn't go on a charter and then give up the spot. Just wouldn't feel right.

Read Jamie's (Jumbo1) reports. He never lets on the location, but provides very useful information, namely the depth and water temperature.

Personally, I would rather stumble blindy over fish than be told where they are and find a hundred other boats on them. That happened to me yesterday morning when I took my Mother and 10 year old son out to where I knew there was a bite. Got on fish immediately and, just as quickly, 18 trollers rolled right through. I left to find my own fish and was only moderately successful but had more fun.
