    Default Sunday report

Too bumpy for me to cross the bay in the morning so we decided to hide in the river. We ended up with 2 flounder one keeper and one throwback. Around noon the wind laid down and we headed to 2r to fish for spanish. Caught 5 called it a day at 3.

I was buzy this weekend and didn't get out, so I wondered if the spanish were still at 1&2. Thanks for the report!

Where'd you pick up the flounder? Haven't been too many reports of success this year? Any help would be much appreciated.

I picked one up just west of the fish traps below the bridge. There's a big drop off there but I was able to catch one going down the hill in 30' of water using a pink flounder rig with a squid strip and minnow. The other one I caught closer to the bridge in 20' of water using a 1.5oz white jig head and a 7" pink/white gulp jerk shad. I have not fished as much in the River this year but it does seem like the flounder fishing has been slow. Maybe they are later to arrive.
