Heading down next week. Never been there before hoping to catch some different bottom fish, some big spanish or kings or maybe a tarpon. Have all the gear and a 24 ft grady. Fish from VA beach to Hatteras most of the time. thanks in advance

I am at EI right now. Limited action at the moment. You can launch your boat from any of several public places in the sound. Getting to the ocean is a bit of a trek through the intercoastal waterway -- it is easy to get lost on your way in or out through the Bogue inlet, so watch carefully. There is also some dredging going on there.

If you do go out, the usual trolling of some clark spoons is the deal for Spanish. Kings generally prefer something real on the end of your hook, perhaps even a live bait.
