    Default South River

After a successful morning live-lining limit I crabbed the SR. Only got 4 crabs all small. Ran 30 traps. Set them between the Rt 2 and Riva road bridge once. Set them in a few creeks I do not know the names of further up river. It was between 11 and 2 but I think I caught an incoming and an outgoing as water was moving. Boat traffic wasn't too bad, but it was pretty hot. Tried to focus on deeper 12'-14' because of the heat and time of day. When that wasn't producing I tried shallow 4'-8'. I am a lousy crabber and it was the middle of a hot day on a Sunday. However, I hoped to do a bit better. Thanks Gary and Bebopper for the help

You didn't do anything wrong. The crabs are just not there right now. Don't know where they go but it's bad all over. At least you got on the fish! I bought a dozen crabs today.............Gary

I think they go back in the mud & wait for the water to cool down!
