I did a couple of years ago and caught a few croakers then.
I've been wanting to get back and venture down abaut a mile or two along the left shoreline and see if I can get some specks interested on some gulps.
I looked at it from google map and it looked promising.
Hope you post a report after you go.

Are you there now? How ow long? Maybe I could join you!

Hey that's good' (wife time trip)
Wife and I did a couple of day trips there 2 weeks ago.Rode around the area checked out antique stores, restaurants and launch sites around Gloucester and Mathews. May launch in Mathews early tomorrow with some guys.
If the wife likes antiques there is a big store just south of Gloucester at White Marsh.
Enjoy the trip and be safe if you launch!

Well Im back. It was a nice weekend and I got plenty of fishing in. Caught dozens of croaker but mostly dinks, nothing of any real size. Got probably 15 specks with the largest going about 19 inches. Caught several puppy drum up to about 20 inches and also a couple of 15" largemouths at Beaverdam. Had to change game plans at times because of the wind. Those times I fished from shore and would launch the kayak when the wind slowed. Usually it dies down in the evening. Bait used was shrimp, squid, bwfb as well as gulps and other lures.Spoke to a few kayakers who said to come back in the fall. I intend to do that. If fishing here watch out for the deer. Almost hit 2 at night that jumped out of the corn field 100 yards from the parking lot. Never did find any concentrations as they were scattered. While there we visited the flea market and some yards sales and pigged out at Ginnys all you can eat buffet. I camped out at the oysters and scallops and definitely over did it.

    Thanx for the report!
Glad to read you had a good time there on land and catching fish.did you have to go far down to get fish? Looking at Google Sat. map I'm thinking like a mile or so to the left.
I've been wanting to go back and will be soon.
Thanx again and hope some day I'll see you on the water.

Often it was windy so I didnt feel like going on an adventure. I generally stayed in the open area and got down to where the water narrows and again to where it narrows upriver. I mainly stuck to structure such as point/coves and docks with lights. Never could pattern things. What produced one night didnt the next at the same tide.
