Default 8/1 Midbay Old School LTJing Rock to 34" w/pics

Made it out this morning with "legendary" Rod builder Steve Fogle of backyard custom rods today..joining us today was "legendary" angler uncle phill Anderson..
Plan was pretty simple.."old school" LTJing..structure..birds etc..
Steve picked up a nice 34" early this morning...fish was photoed and quickly released..
Got our limit pretty early..(If you count all fo the fish Steve hooked and lost 6" from his hand..
Steve gives the word "catch and release" a whole new meaning..
Alot of guys tease Steve for being s "small" guy..found out one advantage, I could scan the horizon with my binoculars and Steve didn't even have to duck..

1/2 to 3/4oz jigs did the trick today..10-15# braided line..

Great time today with tons of laughs..blues...breakers..all over..lots of live liners out today, a few trollers..
fish are feeding on silversides..smaller baits do very well...blues are on top and Rock are on the bottom..
    water temp was 84*..

really nice day on the water..
Rich is on vac so no pics of him this week...Till next week...
pic #3 is Steve getting his @&$$** Kicked by a fish...

Great report. We found plenty off fish the other day but had to use super small baits.

Jamie good to see a Wednesday report!! Great to see it when it includes Steve and Phill!
    Appreciate the pics too.

Nice job finding the fish. Steve deserves a big one every now and then. WTG!

Well if I had a few more fingers on my right hand I could had landed those fish. WOW what a great day and my face still hurts from laughing. Jamie really knows his stuff when it comes to finding fish and I think we just about found the false bottom. Being samll does have some advantages and Jamie used those binoculars a lot. Thanks for a great time Jamie and I finally got one up on Phill today that was my biggest since I went with Tim Smith down at the CCBT. I hope to get back out with you soon and by the way, I ran into another wreck on Rt. 32 and did not get home until after 5.

Glad to see your reports back up.

I've been thinking about asking Steve on my boat, but I have one of those signs from Disneyworld that says "You must be this tall to ride on my boat". Sorry Steve.

If I knew that Steve was coming on this trip, I would have come back early. Looks like you guys had a good day. See you next week. Rich
