    Default transducer question...

so i am ordering a HDS7 and my trailer is a little too big, so i removed the garmin 100 series transducer off the boat when it was loaded on the trailer. my question is can i mount my transducer slightly higher on the hds7, lets say 1 inch so that the transducer will not hit my bunks when loaded on the trailer? Or would i need to buy a through hull transducer?

Just mounted my HDS 7 with the Lowrance skimmer transducer. The instructions for the transducer say to mount it so that the lower half of the skimmer is below the hull. You should be able to access the instructions on the Lowrance website for pics of the proper installation. If your bunks are to long why not just cut them to the proper length? Don't think you want to compromise a proper transducer installation. You may also check out a "Stern Saver" to install it. That may give you another 1/2-3/4" of clearance.
