Default Big Flounder Make a Showing

We took advantage of a brief lull in the speckled trout bite the other day and jigged up a few nice flounder. Total catch in a couple hours of fishing was ten, with eight keepers from 18″ – 24″. Big, beautiful fish!! Terry Tubman and Bobby Shenton did the honors. Nice catch guys!! The flatties were hitting 3/4 ounce bucktails, hand-painted & tied by Bobby’s friend and Choptank River fishing legend Chuck Prahl.

They might not be as pretty as a spec, but they sure taste better and freeze very well.

Do you suspect they have been there all along and you've just been occupied with specs?

Mike - We have been catching a few this summer but Wednesday was the best day by far. It is still a shadow of last season's action.

BTW - I left out of the report that we caught these fish in Virginia waters of the bay/sound, several miles below the MD/VA line. Hoping they move up into MD waters soon.
