In-line wieghts

Many of my in-line wieghts have a large end and taper down on the other end. Which way is best, fat end to back or skinny end back?
And how many wish you had fished this morning,,, I expected the worst... Weather was pretty nice around here! ( caught some nice fish on overcast days like this!)

OH, and what does HO stand for? I assumed it was Hang out.. will fish if asked.
I was asked If I take HO's, ( hopefully thats not slang for....) I am willing to take others fishing-- in my area, when I deside to go.. ( often 3x a week when here in D-ville)

From what I hear, you have to be careful that your not asking for gas money though or you may get classified as a charter.

I wish I could get down there 3xs a week, lately I've been lucky to manage 1 trip every 2weeks

I was lucky to retire at 50 and have a place here in D-ville. Fish when I like
( I also crappie fish, but they seem to be easier to catch in cooler mths)

Most of my inlines are even taper, but maybe if your using the fat end forward it would resemble a bait fish being chased more?

I was told not to use fat end forward, because it would "smoke".. another told not to use skinny end forward - because it would cause lure to wobble.. ( I would think thats good!)
I didn't know either of those were problems! But if there is a "correct way" I would like to know. The reason I asked was, I noticed that on the 2 I have on now, both are different directions... And One of these 2 rods did not catch any fish the last time out.. Unfortunatly,,, I don't remember which one

I put the fat end forward so there is less turbulence.

I put the smaller end forward when I have no evenly tapered lures. I'm never seen any production difference between the two setups, however. Only real debate I've ever had on that sorta trolling is about planners vs inline. I always say planners are a fad for people who like to reset lines for seaweed. In-line is easier on the wallet. Also, you gotta be a little better at fishing for inline trolling. To me, planners just bring them up and drag them them along the top. Gotta be blind not to know you gotta fish, in little ole me's opinion. I shut up at a meeting when Julie Ball told me she always fishes King Mackerel With a #5 planner and 50 ft leader ( offshore, yet).

Not the HO thing is a "helping hand" request. The assumption is you'll split the fish, etc, some how. Yea, you now days you can't even offer a sandwich, gas money, or bottled water according the the Charter Boat Association. I've been the the meetings. They'll complain to Brandon and force him to warn you that you could be banned from this site. Now with that said, I'd love to help you out, and enjoy going with you any time it's convenient.
