8/18 VB 000's

Left lynnhaven around 3:30 headed toward 000's. Put lines in and got a skippie within 5 minutes just shy of 50 fathoms. Had another come tight minutes later and pulled the hook. Before we can get the whole spread out whitey pops up on the teaser then slams the flat line ripping line and jumping 5 ft in the air. 15 minutes later we get the release. Little later another knock down but doesnt stay tight. Get one more small white couple hours later. Had a couple mystery bites that never poppped the clip and 1 more knockdown on the illander/horse hoo that didnt stay tight. Good fishing saw a few other boats hooked up throughtout the day, not exactly hot and heavy though. Long crappy ride home, fortunately for us we got to tuck in behind a big ocean yahct for most of the way back.

about 70 miles, its a hike
