Chlordane would take care of them but you haven't been able to by it since 1983.

I do not know if extreme watering will work, but heavy rains got rid of mine.
Malathion is the only thing that has ever worked with consistency for me... it does a noticeable job with immediate effects, on every and all insects. Spectracide has a product containing this chemical... I am sure others do as well.
