I have found that my trailer light problems have been ground related. I have begun to run a separate ground wire to each light. Than I check the terminals periodically for corrosion. Finally, thaw lights that would be submerged at launch and retrieve have been made removable with quick disconnects on the wires and wing nuts on the bolt studs.

I would check the connection between the truck plug and the trailer plug make sure the pins in the plugs are making a good connection you can also use a test light to check the truck plug and if it checks out ok the problem is with the trailer

Make sure to check fuses. On many pick ups, there are separate fuses for the trailer for turn and brakes.
