    Attach or put on top of cooler; more stable and not in the way of fishing.

    I have a piece of cutting board/starboard that is 3/4 inch thick and about 35 x12 with rounded edges. if you could use it to make your set up e-mail me and we will get together.

    I think they are all overpriced, unless you do a whole lot of bait work on the gunwales. I've seen plans for home-made ones here and there, both for the rod holder or hooking to the gunwale. You can also install some small eyes and tie them on when needed.

    And while you're at it, if you have a raw water washdown faucet back there: run about 3-4' of garden hose, nothing on the outboard end, from that faucet and hang it over the side (I hook mine under the stern cleat) for hand-washing with a flick of the switch instead of the headstand lean over the side!

    I use the one that came with my pier cart. I removed one of my seats which mounts in hole in the stearn of my Key West, leg of cutting board fits right down in there.
