Had a great night fishing Buckroe, caught over 30 croaker on squid with the best time being from 10:00pm - 1:00am. Had a great conversation with an elderly couple that was fishing for sustenance not just fun, so I gave them all my fish. It was a fun and rewarding night.
There were a lot of guys jigging the lights but not getting any catches; there are a lot of schools of bait in the water which is a good sign.
Before Buckroe, I fished across the street from my house on Fort Monroe, still no fish being caught. I have not heard if any reports if fish being caught yet this season. The water is lingering at about 57 degrees and the water is clearing up. Mill Creek hasn't really produced much, but I spoke with some kayakers that fished the HRBT structure and they got a few schoolie stripers on chartreuse gulp grubs. Still a little slow on the rest of the peninsula with Buckroe being your best ticket.
