    anyone have a preferance on bait this time of year---necks, bunker or????? will be on sass river and back creek fri. also what depth might work best?

    Fresh Chicken Necks are the best bait any time of year.

    Good Luck on the Sass, but you may want to consider trying a little further south for now. I don't htink too much is happening north of the bridge.

    But if you do....I hope you prove me wrong[wink]

    fresh white perch, no comparison, caught big crabs when everyone was else went home with small white bellies, and they were crabbing right on top of me!!!!

    I always prefer fresh necks if you can get them, but tried frozen white perch for the first time, that I had caught the week before and the heaviest crabs I caught in the bushel were on the perch baits. That was 2 weeks ago. You may be fighting a hard battle that far north, but the water has warmed. Good Luck
