crab traps - optimum # of open doors?

I just started assembling some now foxy mate traps (form jerry of course) and thought I remembered a thread with some good dialogue about the best # of doors to leave open. I'm no inter-web expert and couldnt find it so...
how many doors should I leave open? I was thinking of conducting a double blind scientific study , but figured with all the knowledge on this board, I shouldnt waste my time.
so far I've been going with 1 and 2 doors open...results to come.
