    Default crabbing gloves?

Is there a special heavy duty glove for handling crabs? If so, where can I get a pair?

Find a pair of welding gloves. That's what I use.

    Second on the welding gloves.

Check the closest Wal-Mart. Some stores carry welding stuff in the automotive dept. Lowes has them too. The best pair will come from a local welding supply shop. If you have a choice, pick the thickest, even if not the most pliable. They'll losen up with use. I'v seen some glorified welding gloves sold as barbecue or cooking gloves also.

Don't handle cooked crabs with the same pair used on the live ones. You can contaminate the cooked ones.

Just buy yourself some oven mitts, they work just as good.

Thanks everyone, I guess I should have been a little more specific. I was looking for something to handle live crabs and be protected from pinchers. The oven mitts sound interesting, or maybe even a softball glove.

I used my mother-in-laws oven mitts to put the live crabs into the steamer pot when we couldn't find the tongs. Worked great!!
